Human Centric Lighting

Human Centric Lighting is created by changing the colour & intensity of white light throughout the day to replicate natural light. Studies show by manipulating artificial light to support the users needs, will improve well-being, alertness and motivation.

The natural circadian rhythm of a person can be supported by using warmer, less intensive light during the morning and evenings to help with calming. Cooler and brighter light can be introduced during the typical working day to help energise a person.

The circadian rhythm is a 24-hour biological process shown within humans, plants and animals. Although circadian rhythms are ‘built-in’, they will adjust to the immediate environment by external cues such as light and temperature.

Leading LED lighting manufacturers can produce luminaires with mixed white diodes, typically 2700K – 6500K, within a singular fitting in order to imitate this effect.

Connected lighting solutions now give the end-user the ability to optimise the energy efficiency of their building, whilst improving productivity and well-being of the occupants. For example; staff & customers etc.
